Yate loon 120mm radiator12/9/2023 ![]() I had to carve out the corners for my installation (both the radiator and the case required short screws for attaching the fans). This fan has closed corners-keep that in mind as you consider how the front fan is mounted in your case.Do note that I was using in-line resistor wires to slow the fans down to about 60-70% of their rated speed I probably could have pulled those out and still not had a problem (if I'd needed additional cooling). Unless you're going for a super-silent system, I have no problem recommending the medium speed version, which I used for a full year while noticing only minimal noise (and they were mounted on the top of the case above the radiator, so I would have noticed!). This YL fan comes in both slow and medium speed versions.Bottom line: This fan can get the job done. The Nexus Real Silent Basic has had many reviewers down through the years, but none of them mentioned clicking, which Yate Loon reviewers did sometimes mention. ![]() The slowest Yate Loon is 1350 RPM, but this one is rated at 1000 RPM. The new radiator (with standard 120mm x 25mm) fans gets the CPU only 2 degrees C cooler than my old setup. The Nexus Real Silent Basic case fan has a model number of D12SL-12, which is a Yate Loon model number. As I said, I used these on my old radiator.Second, some things about this fan that may interest you: I just pulled two of these from my system when I replaced the water cooling radiator (the new radiator didn't have the same clearance issues as the old one).įirst, to answer your question: This YL fan has a sealed PCB, just like the NZXT fan you pictured in your post. Test Methodology In order to accurately test the Yate Loon D12SL-12 fan I have decided to review its performance from two perspectives: Static Pressure and air flow Cooling ability The Yate Loon D12SL-12 will be compared against Noctua's latest 120mm case fan offering - the NF-P12.
